2008 Yali Winemakers Selection Cabernet Carmenere Blend

Twisted open and poured into the glass, with a nice ruby red color in the glass. A bit of alcohol on the nose, but this fades as the bottle is open for 2 hours. 60% cabernet, but that is not blatantly obvious on the nose. Nice currants, and a bt of green pepper on the nose, with some nice black cherry, strawberry, and vanilla. The nose is rounded out by hints of mocha and spice.

On the palate, more of the same really, along with a bit of dustiness. This wine is actually more fuller than I had expected, and at this price, this is a hell of a QPR once again. The finish is short and pleasant, and this wine should mellow out and smooth out with another year in the bottle. Definitely do not see any benefit from long term cellaring, so feel free to drink away with an hour in the decanter. 86 points. Cheers!
